AmCham Shanghai's Marketing & Media Committee will host a webinar on Thursday, September 15 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm via Zoom webinar.


The Metaverse is one the most trending topics in business in marketing, exciting e-sports players, luxury brand marketers, and Fortune 500 CEOs alike. But what is the Metaverse, exactly? What is the difference between the Metaverse, the Virtual World, and Web 3.0? And how is the Metaverse developing in China?


The AmCham Shanghai Marketing & Media Committee has assembled a panel of experts who are helping brands develop Metaverse strategies, who are creating world-class content for the virtual world, and who follow the physical and infrastructure development of Web 3.0 to provide a holistic view and cover a wide range of questions.     Nic Brennan

    Executive Creative Director of Publicis Groupe China

    He is an experienced integrated Creative with a focus on Digital and Experience Design (20+ years in Asia) who comes from a traditional Design & Typography background.

    Nic has lived and worked in London, Tokyo, and Singapore and is now based in Shanghai.

    His focus is on Creative Ideation, Digital Activation, and Digital Transformation where he leads a mixture of Creative, UX, and Experience Design teams working on a wide variety of projects across many of the Publicis Groupe Agencies.

    Nic has worked with many brands during his career, some of which include Audi, BMW & BMW Alpina, Bentley, Fiat, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Volkswagen, McDonald’s, P&G, Intel, J&J, Sephora, Coach, Electrolux, Michelin, Dulux, Dyson, Nike, Coca-cola and many more.

    Neil made his first GIF in 2000. He favored making memes of classmates using Photoshop 5 over high school homework and built websites using Notepad (Yes, the Windows 95 basic text editor) for friends in exchange for pocket-money. 22 years on, he still makes memes and but doesn't use Notepad anymore to build web applications.

    Neil is currently the creative technology lead for Ogilvy Shanghai, and has been spearheading innovative thinking and creative development of experiences in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, London and Australia; for clients including TCCC, Nike, NBA, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and Lincoln Motors.

    Patrice Nordey is an experienced executive and a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of multicultural experience with large corporations, agencies, and startups across the US, Europe, and Asia.

    As Managing Partner and Member of the Executive Committee of FABERNOVEL, he supports international groups to design, deploy and accelerate digital and innovation programs globally.
    Prior to joining Fabernovel, he founded in 2013 in Shanghai the VELVET company, a pioneer digital agency supporting luxury and prestige brands to expand in China.

    Patrice started his career in 1998 as a co-founder and partner of Neteconomie.fr, an online media platform acquired in 2008 by M6 Group, a leading French television company. Neteconomie was launched on the metaverse in 2000, using the open-source 3D programming technology SCOL from Cry Interactive.
    Economist graduated from Sciences Po Paris, Patrice specializes in disruptive innovation, new technologies, and digital transformation.

He is both an innovator and an industry leader in smart city 3D Enterprise Metaverse and Digital Twin solutions.

    Eric also speaks at The WAIC2021 1st European Online Forum with Sinofy on the topic of Smart Cloud Revolution in Industry 4.0 and many other technology events. His company, DIGITWIN Technologies, and Virspatial Technologies have been awarded the "Technology Pioneer 2022" by the World Economic Forum and have also won the "Best Asia Pacific Smart City Project" in the recent IDC 2022 Smart City Awards Asia Pacific (SCAPA).
