Event Details
After three years of strict 'zero covid' policies, the last few months of 2022 saw China lifting COVID restrictions in several areas, an abrupt shift that few expected so quickly. How will the opening-up impact China's economy in 2023? Is the market predicting a rebound in activity to come earlier?
To help members better understand China's economic outlook and the potential impact on businesses, AmCham Shanghai and BritCham Shanghai are delighted to co-host a webinar on the morning of Tuesday, 10 January 2023 on China Economic Outlook in 2023.
The event will kick off with a keynote online speech by Shuang DING, Chief Economist, Greater China and North Asia, Standard Chartered Bank. Following Shuang DING's sharing, Mattie Bekink, China Director, Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, The Economist Group, will moderate an in-person panel discussion inviting industry leaders to share their prospects for the China market. The panelists are:
- Allan Gabor, President of Merck China
- Han Lin, Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance, NYU Shanghai, and Senior Advisor to The Asia Group (TAG)
- James Macdonald, Head of Savills Research, China
This event will be under the Chatham House Rule and will NOT be recorded.
