Event Details
AmCham Shanghai's Marketing & Media Committee and Retail Committee will host an event on Tuesday, November 8 from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm in the AmCham Shanghai conference room.
Double 11 is today well established as the World's largest shopping event. Since its inaugural event in 2009, it has evolved each year with platforms and marketers looking for more innovative ways to seize a share of the attention (and wallet) of consumers. This has led to advertisers committing sizeable proportions of their marketing investment behind the event, in the hope of translating that investment into short-term sales, and increasingly, building their brands.
During the early years, global audiences would look on with a degree of envy at the seemingly unstoppable growth each year. Recently, the festival has expanded into new markets with global marketers looking at the event as an opportunity to build momentum in the buildup to other established shopping events such as Black Friday, which takes place just two weeks later. At the same time, the festival in China continues to lead in new ways providing marketers with valuable insights into an ever more advanced commerce world. We believe this year's event will be particularly captivating at the end of a challenging year in China.
The AmCham Shanghai Marketing & Media Committee has brought specialists from several fields, to share their commerce knowledge and expertise. The event will take place in the week prior to 11.11 providing fresh insights on the significant developments in the lead-up to this year's event. They will cover the perceptions of consumers in a slowing economy, shifts in channel and platform preferences, the impact of regulation especially regarding live-streaming and KOLs, and predictions on who will emerge as the real winners of this year's festival.
