The AmCham Shanghai Technology and Innovation Committee invites you to our next bi-monthly US-China Tech and Innovation Policy Update on Tuesday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room.


During this month's session, our resident expert, Michael Frank, Co-founder and CEO of Radiant Intel, will share the latest insights on U.S. and China tech policies - particularly in light of recent rare-earth tensions and their implications for AI competition.


Erik Walenza, Chair of the AmCham Shanghai Tech & Innovation Committee, will facilitate the meeting.


The primary objective of these bi-monthly updates is to foster increased information exchange among individuals and member companies. This initiative gives participants a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments within the tech industry as we navigate numerous challenges in the year ahead.

    Co-founder and CEO of Radiant Intel

    Michael is the Co-founder and CEO of Radiant Intel, an agentic artificial intelligence platform that uses complex global data to provide expertise in geopolitical and macro risk. He was previously a Senior Fellow at the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. His research focuses on the international aspects of AI governance and regulation, and the trade, economic and geopolitical dynamics of AI. Michael also worked as a public policy analyst with The Economist Intelligence Unit in Hong Kong, where he focused on the economic impact of emergent technologies (AI, 5G, IoT), international influence in tech-sector policymaking (tax, privacy, competition), and the US-China trade war and technological decoupling.
