Join AmCham Shanghai Suzhou Center's Second Annual Women's Leadership Conference on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mega Room 1, W Suzhou (see venue).

The 2024 Women's Leadership Conference gathers outstanding female leaders and business professionals. The conference's theme will focus on Women in the workplace. The conference will feature inspirational keynotes and a panel for leaders to share their views on how women can thrive in a digital age that AI accelerates. There will be plenty of networking and learning opportunities to connect with like-minded business and industry professionals.

This year's conference will gather attendees who show their support for greater gender diversity, inclusion, and the advancement of women to the ranks of senior leadership. The conference is a great opportunity for companies to get involved with senior executives from different industries and fields, while also showing their commitment to empowering women's careers and leadership and pushing forward gender equality in business.

Everyone is welcome! This conference is for anyone who supports workplace diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Penny Chu

Penny has over 20 years of experience in M&A advisory practice in both mainland China and overseas. Before joining Deloitte China, she worked in the Deloitte Australia M&A team, based in Sydney. Penny's job is primarily to provide financial advisory support to MNCs, PE, and Chinese clients with their investment decisions in China and globally. Her specialized sector is manufacturing. Traveling is her favorite hobby, her passion is to bring my son to visit different places and gain exposure to cultures and diversity. Graduated from AGSM (UNSW), an Australia-leading business school with a degree in Master of Business Administration. She was also selected to complete an exchange semester with the Kellogg School of Management in the United States. Member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a Member of CPA Australia.

Elizabeth Beatty

Elizabeth Beatty is an international educator with 28 years of experience as an instructional coach, administrator, and consultant. Originally from Ohio, she has worked in the USA, Italy and China. She holds a master's degree in Educational Leadership, is trained in Cognitive Coaching, and completed studies on differentiation and Universal Design for Learning through Harvard University. Elizabeth works with teachers and administrators on implementing transformative instruction, focused on differentiation and inclusion practices to serve a wide range of learning abilities and languages in the international classroom. After leaving the United States, Elizabeth spent thirteen years as Elementary and Middle School Principal at the American School of Milan and nine years as the Director of Teaching and Learning at the International School in Genoa. She is currently the Director of Teaching and Learning at Suzhou Singapore International School in Suzhou, China where she has lived since 2020 with her husband and two sons.

Aiying Wang joined Envac in 2021 as CEO & President of China and South East Asia regions. Aiying will lead the team to focus on growth in China, HK, Singapore, Malaysia, and adjacent areas in the segments of eco-cities, hospitals, airports, and buildings. Envac is committed to the mission of a better environment, a greener earth, and desirable communities.

Prior to Envac, Aiying served as VP/GM of the APAC Electrical Component Division at Eaton. She led the APAC team to upgrade the R&D capabilities and operational excellence with healthy business growth through a clear strategy and consistent execution.

Between 2011 to 2016, Aiying was Business Operation VP/GM for KEMET Electronics in China where she took great pride in the team for achieving worldwide record performance and creating a sustainable positive culture.

Working in the USA from 1993 to 2011, Aiying contributed to a diversity of roles at BIC as a material scientist, at KEMET as manager of R&D, Process Engineering, and Operations, and at Michelin North America.

Aiying holds a Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry from the USA and a BS in Chemistry from China. She is an inventor of more than a dozen granted patents. In 2018 Aiying received Mindspan (Australia) Executive Coaching Certification, which further supports her passion to raise the bar for leadership in the community. Aiying served as Vice Chair and Chair for the AmCham Suzhou Advisory Committee. In June 2021 Aiying was honored by Forbes China with the third annual award of Women in Tech.

Dr. Ellen E Touchstone is the inaugural Associate Dean for Responsible and Sustainable Business Education at the International Business School Suzhou @ XJTLU. She received her MBA in International Business from ASU Thunderbird School of Global Management and her PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Southern California. She is a thought leader on inclusive banking with her research on the linguistic servicescape and multilingual advertising published in the Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Consumer Research respectively.

Under her leadership, IBSS was recently named the first and only Champion business school in China by the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) organization of the UN Global Compact. The carbon reduction initiative she launched with the Sustainable Future Talents student group, "Fifteen Ways in Fifteen Weeks" won the AMBA BGA Best CSR & Sustainability Initiative 2022 award. In March 2022, she was named a “China Super Woman” by Shanghai-based Green Initiatives for her work on environmental and gender equity initiatives in the Yangtze River Delta. In November 2022, she received the “Model Citizen” award from the Suzhou Industrial Park government.

Ms. Gebi Liang is the GM of Teams & SharePoint China. She is currently leading a world-class engineering organization to help develop one of the world’s fastest-growing collaboration platforms, Teams. She is also responsible for enhancing SharePoint Online, one of the largest SaaS in the world, in addition to being accountable for the SharePoint Server business.

During her time in Microsoft before her current role, she worked for many years in Microsoft public cloud Azure area including launching a couple of Azure services starting from an idea. She established the China Cloud Innovation Center (CCIC), which played a key technical role in addressing the unique needs of China's local customers as they embrace the journey of the cloud.

Ms. Liang has always been a passionate advocate for Diversity & Inclusion. She is leading multiple efforts in this space focusing on driving female employee population increase and their career development to advance Microsoft's D&I commitment in the workplace. She is also actively participating in a broad set of STEM efforts outside Microsoft inspiring more females to pursue their careers in the technology space. Ms. Liang was featured on Forbes China's 50 Top Women in Tech and Fortune China’s Most Powerful Women to Watch in 2020.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Gebi was a 15-year veteran of Intel and held several key technical and leadership roles in the US & China.
Gebi holds a master's degree in Computer Science from the College of William & Mary and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Beijing Normal University.
