Michael is a product design and development specialist and the co-founder of Qnetic, which is on a mission to enable the rapid transition to carbon-free, sustainable energy by providing the world’s best energy storage. Qnetic is a mechanical battery based on breakthrough flywheel technology. For the prior 16 years, Michael worked at a leading product design consultancy. He was the founding GM in China and led the design and engineering team for a decade, with award-winning product designs and several invention patents to his name.

Yuki is the founder and head researcher of Energy Iceberg, a boutique research firm and a market data provider specialist in China's clean energy industry. Energy Iceberg is dedicated to serving international companies and organizations to get insights into emerging hydrogen, energy storage, and new energy businesses in China. Yuki has over 12 years of experience working in the Chinese electricity and renewable industry. Prior to her role in Energy Iceberg, she worked for China Southern Power Grid for seven years, where she provided research and market investigation of China and international natural gas and renewable sectors. She also contributed to various international energy journals, media, and academic publications reporting on the Chinese clean energy industries.

Mark Bawtree is based in Shanghai, as the Head of Global Sales & ESG with Akila, an ESG-focused SaaS platform for providing quantitative data for visibility, transparency, and optimization of building performance and facility teams using Digital Twins. He has been doing solution development and sales globally for over 18yrs, using cutting-edge renewable technologies to provide solutions for a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Akila, Mark was running a sustainable consultancy providing services for green building certifications, ESG consulting, and sustainable materials.

Malcolm joined Qnetic Corporation in March 2022 as Head of Finance, Operations & Strategy, with a mission to deliver new and exciting sustainable technologies in the transition to renewable energies.

Previously Malcolm worked at Johnson Controls, initially the CFO for Asia for their buildings-related business. Since then, he has also been General Manager for JCI’s Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong markets. He then leads Strategy and Corporate Development, driving JCI’s initiatives for inorganic growth in Buildings, with a special focus on Sustainability & Smart Building Technologies.

Prior to joining JCI, Malcolm had a brief stint as CFO for Asia at Stanley Black and Decker, where he helped the business integrate and manage a recently formed Joint-Venture in China.

Before Stanley, Black and Decker, Malcolm held a variety of roles during his 23-year career span at United Technologies Corporation, roughly half of that being in the US and half in Asia Pacific, based out of Shanghai, China. These included being CFO for Asia Pacific for Carrier, VP of Strategy, Integration & M&A for Carrier & UTC Fire & Security, as well as sitting on the Boards of more than 25 Joint-Ventures for UTC, spread between China, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Philippines, India, Singapore, and others.

In addition to his vast work experience, Malcolm holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, and a Master’s degree in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
