Carl Breau is a Canadian engineer and is the CEO of Saimen Group, a group of five Canadian and Chinese registered companies active in product engineering and contract manufacturing. Carl Breau is Chairman of the Advisory board of the Canada China Business Council. He is also an Associate at CDL, the largest incubator and early venture funding platform in Canada. He is also a Board Member of different corporations, predominantly companies having significant operations in China.

Saimen intelligent manufacturing has registered companies and offices in Montreal and in China, and a factory in China. The company does technical procurement, product engineering, and assembly of technical products such as electromechanical assemblies and connected devices. Its main manufactured products are LED signage systems and interactive gaming chairs and systems. Its business licenses are for product engineering, electronics manufacturing, and electromechanical manufacturing.

Mr. Breau speaks fluent mandarin and is a frequent speaker and university lecturer on the topic of Doing Business in China.

Carl Breau holds many awards, including the Medal of Exceptional Achievement, awarded by the Canadian Council of Engineers. He also holds a Board Member certification from UCLA. He owns a home in Shanghai where he lives with his wife.

Nana Li is Research and Project Director, China for ACGA, joining the Association in February 2014. Her primary responsibilities include researching and writing on corporate governance developments in Hong Kong and China. She was the primary author of the China chapters of ACGA’s flagship CG Watch 2016, 2018, and 2020 reports, and project manager and one of the main authors of ACGA’s groundbreaking 2018 China report, Awakening Governance: The evolution of corporate governance in China. She has assisted with the organization of ACGA’s annual conferences and member delegations to various Asian markets. She was a primary organizer for the ‘2017 China Responsible Investment Forum’ in Tianjin, the first event ACGA has co-organized with the Asset Management Association of China and China Association for Public Companies.

Besides her research work, Nana assists ACGA’s advocacy and educational work, giving presentations at events worldwide. As one of ACGA’s key speakers, among others, she has given speeches at the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, the Shenzhen Asset Management Association, and spoken at international conferences hosted by CLSA, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, EMIA, GRI and the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN).

Apart from her work at ACGA, Nana also sits on three committees to contribute to the corporate governance and ESG developments in global markets: the Financial Capital Committee of ICGN, the ESG Committee of Women in Finance Asia, and the China ESG30 Forum of Caixin Insight.

A native of Hangzhou, Nana holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Distinction) from the University of NSW, Sydney, majoring in Finance and Accounting, and a Master of Finance (Dean’s Honours List) from the University of Hong Kong. She is a CFA charterholder.

Brendan Donnelly is a sustainability, innovation, and marketing professional with seven years of managerial experience at a global fortune 500 company. He has an educational background from Oxford University MSc in Sustainable Urban Development. He has been published in academic journals from M.I.T. He is currently based in Hangzhou China leading Zhejiang Geely Group’s newly formed Sustainability program.
