AmCham Shanghai invites you join the 2023 China Business Report (CBR) release event on September 19 at the PwC Center in Xintiandi. The CBR is based on one of the longest-running surveys of US business in China that began in 1999. This year's report offers insights into our members' thinking on investment trends, the business outlook, production and supply chains moves, China's macro-economic challenges, the impact of geo-politics, etc. PwC partner Jeff Yuan will present the survey's primary findings, after which he will host a panel discussion featuring speakers Ms. Siyuan Chen, President and General Manager of Bristol Myers Squibb China, Wong Hong, President of Greater China of Delta Air Lines and Mr. Simon Yang, President at Aptiv Asia Pacific.


A buffet breakfast will be served and all attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the 2023 China Business Report.

    Siyuan Chen

    President and General Manager at Bristol Myers Squibb China

    Ms. Siyuan Chen has been the President and General Manager of Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) for China since December 2019, where she has led BMS China to formulate and launch its “China 2030 Strategy”.

    Prior to BMS, Siyuan held several senior management roles at GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis. She also worked for the Boston Consulting Group as a consultant. Siyuan received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Fudan University, an MBA degree from the Columbia Business School, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts.

    As a leader committed to shaping the industry environment in China, Siyuan is currently the Vice Chairman of the 6th Council of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI), a member of the 2022-2023 Executive Committee of CAEFI’s R&D-based Pharmaceutical Association Committee (RDPAC), and the Vice Chairman of the China Association of Pharmaceutical Commerce (CAPC).

    Wong Hong is joining the panel, please use this bio below.
    Wong Hong is President China for Delta Air Lines, where he oversees the airline’s strategy, sales and marketing in China. Wong Hong is also Delta’s observer member of the China Eastern Board of Directors.
    Wong Hong joined Delta in March 2016 after working at SATS, a leading service provider for the aviation industry, where he served as Executive Vice President of Food Solutions. He joined SATS in July 2012 as Executive Vice President for Gateway Services, and also sat on the boards of several SATS subsidiaries and associated companies.
    Prior to SATS, Wong Hong was Regional Director, Asia Pacific for Industry Distribution & Financial Services at the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Prior to IATA, he spent three years with MasterCard International and 13 years with Singapore Airlines, holding various marketing and management posts, including overseas positions in five countries.
    Wong Hong holds a bachelor's degree (honors) in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore.

    Dr. Yang is the president of Asia Pacific of Aptiv. He works alongside the regional executive team on cross divisional initiatives and leads the stewardship of Aptiv’s relationships with government and senior customer contacts.

    Aptiv started operations in China since 1993, and has established 21 manufacturing facilities and 4 technical centers across China, with more than 40,000 employees. Annual sales revenue in China reached US$4B in 2021.

    Dr. Yang started his career with General Motors in 1995 in Warren, Ohio and relocated to China in 2003 to start up connection sy stems operations in Asia. In 2008, he was appointed Managing Director for Delphi Connection Systems in Asia, driving substantial business growth from 2 004 to 2021 and playing a key role in multiple acquisitions with highly successful integration. In 2014, Simon was appointed Delphi China President, di rec ting the overall business in China. In December 2017, with the successful completion of Powertrain Division spin off, Delphi officially became Aptiv. Simon b ecame the president of Aptiv Asia Pacific in January 2018.

    Mr. Yang earned his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Master of Material Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in China. He received his Master and Ph.D. of Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Simon also completed the Sen ior Executive Program of Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He has published 11 research papers in several USA and European science and tec hnology journals.

    Jeff Yuan is a partner with PwC China whom leads their transfer pricing tax services for Asia Pacific region.

    Jeff and his team provide cross-border tax advices to multinational companies (MNCs) in China, and the overseas headquarters across major industries. Such experiences include help MNCs design, and implement sustainable cross-border transactions from China/APAC/Global tax perspectives.

    Jeff is a regular speaker on China and global tax and regulatory updates and trends for professional conferences and contributes frequently to professional publications on the relevant subjects.

    Jeff has a Master in Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota and Bachelor degree in Accounting from Winona State University. Jeff is a fellow member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

    Jeff has been providing China tax and business advices to his clients over last 20 years after he came back to his hometown, Shanghai, from New York where he worked with PwC as an international tax specialist.

    Jeff is a regular speaker on China and global tax issues and trends and a frequent contributor to professional publications on the relevant subjects. Jeff has a Master’s in Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota and Bachelor’s in Accounting from Winona State University. Jeff is a fellow member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
