Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the Shanghai Municipal Government has issued a slew of regulations to reinvigorate the city's commercial sector and support foreign businesses. Understanding these policies is crucial for American businesses in China.

AmCham Shanghai is pleased to present a webinar by Michelle Ya-Ling Gon, partner on secondment to the Shanghai office of McDermott Will & Emery's alliance partner, MWE China Law. Michelle will present on business policies the Shanghai government has released following COVID-19, focusing on:

  • Labor and Employment Issues, especially focusing on quarantine, travel ban and compensation;
  • Any reactive government policies offered to FIEs, especially from tax, subsidy and other remedial aspects;
  • Performance of contract issues, particularly if the parties can raise Force Majeure as a valid defense.

This webinar is on the record and a recording and presentation slides will be distributed following the webinar upon request.
