Event Details

Rising tariffs between the US and China, along with complex and evolving regulations, have created an increasingly uncertain environment for companies operating in China. What direction will tariff policies take, and how will they impact the business landscape?

To explore these questions, AmCham Shanghai will host a hybrid panel discussion on Monday, April 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room. The panel will feature AmCham Shanghai President Eric Zheng, Jarrod Ward, Chief Commercial Officer, Regional, at Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd, and an industry representative, who will provide the latest updates on the tariff situation and discuss implications for businesses. A Q&A session will follow.

Eric Zheng
President at AmCham Shanghai
Eric Zheng is the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, responsible for supporting over 3,000 member companies in the Yangtze River Delta area. He has previously served on the board of AmCham Shanghai as a member, treasurer, secretary, vice chairman, and 2018-2019 chairman.

Eric had a long career with American International Group (AIG) with a series of executive positions that culminated in his service as President & CEO of AIG China. Before AIG, Eric worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce as the principal commercial officer at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou. Prior to relocating to China, Eric worked for PwC in the U.S. for many years as a management consultant. Eric holds several volunteer roles including the Greater China regional chair and a board director of the Committee of 100, a non-partisan organization of prominent Chinese Americans.

Jarrod Ward
Chief Commercial Officer, Regional, at Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd
An experienced industry professional with over 22 years working in the logistics and supply chain solution industry. Jarrod is currently the Chief Business Development Officer for East Asia at Yusen Logistics, a member of the NYK Group. He is also responsible for their Supply Chain Solutions division in East Asia.

Jarrod has held senior leadership positions in Japan, Singapore, and the USA, including over 16 years at NYK Line container division.

Jarrod received his MBA in Supply Chain Logistics from Rutgers University in 2007.

Jarrod graduated from Washington & Jefferson college, and has his roots in western Pennsylvania.
