Our Tuesday, June 8th Monthly Member Briefing will feature a conversation and Q&A with Simon Rabinovitch, the Shanghai-based Asia economics editor of The Economist, who will soon move to Washington D.C. In addition to his weekly reporting on China's economy, Simon has authored several special reports for The Economist, including Still Hunting about the "Asian tiger" economies (2019), The Global Centre about the Chinese economy (2019) and Big but Brittle about the Chinese financial system (2016).


Simon will be interviewed by Ian Driscoll, the Chamber's publications and communications director, a former journalist.


Admission to this event is complimentary. This is a member only event and is off the record, seats are limited. All members are required to wear a Business Card during the event for identification purposes. We are unable to accommodate non-member guests at this briefing.

    Simon Rabinovitch

    Asia Economics Editor at The Economist

    Simon Rabinovitch is Asia Economics Editor of The Economist. He previously served as a correspondent with the Financial Times and Reuters in Beijing, Shanghai and London, reporting on finance and economics. The joint winner of a Society of Publishers in Asia award for coverage of China, Simon’s commentary has appeared on the BBC and NPR. He also had a brief stint as a table-tennis reporter during the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Outside of journalism, Simon has served as National Secretary for the Rhodes Scholarships for China, a scholarship for students to attend the University of Oxford. He has a BA from McGill University and an MPhil from the University of Oxford.
