The Executive and Leadership Coaching Essentials Level One program enables anyone new to coaching, and also experienced coaches seeking recognition, to acquire expertise in conducting effective coaching activities. It equips participants with the necessary knowledge, tools, techniques, and skills to enable them to apply their learnings in real business situations.


Program Overview


The program utilises a unique "Acquisition-Application-Integration" approach to develop coaches who walk the talk. The participants' journey will include: pre-reading, an intensive 3-day training program, a reflective learning task, a Supervised Coaching Internship (SCI), and two Competencies Master Classes (CMC).

By the end of Level One, participants will:


• Understand executive coaching and the broader organizational context,


• Be able to apply the foundational models of executive coaching,


• Understand the intricacies of coaching relationships,


• Understand the intent and application of the coach questioning process,


• Understand coaching from the inside, by coaching and being coached,


• Demonstrate the ICF core competencies as a coach.


Structure and Components


Module One (3-Day Classroom Learning)


Module One aims to equip leaders with essentials skills of coaching, including the models and structures that can build up to a high performing coaching culture. Module One starts with the foundation of Neuroscience and why coaching is a must-have in the inclusive working environment, along with the know-how in coaching fundamentals and when coaching can be a useful management intervention. We teach these skills and tools in a very practical and experiential way, leveraging the collective wisdom from the participants. All participants will experience coaching and being coached using real plays. They will walk away with both coaching skill and the greater coaching structure that enables individuals to conduct coaching conversations and even start a coaching career as a professional.

ISLC offers two ICF credentials training programs, corresponding with the quantity of education and coaching experience required to earn it.


The credentials are:

Associate Certified Coach (ACC) – require to completed 60 hours of coach specific education and 100 hours of client coaching experience;


Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – require to Completed 125 hours of coach specific education and 500 hours of client coaching experience

    The highly experienced and engaging Chip has coached internationally over10 countries across industries such as banking and financial services, pharmaceutical companies, IT, professional service firms and multi-lateral public service organizations. Chip is lead facilitator of many ISLC training programs as the inspirational “Godfather of Coaching” within our faculty.



    Chip's vast experience ranges over a number of areas of leadership development including training and coaching the elements of inspirational leadership.



    Chip has over 20,000 hours coaching experience over 30+ years and has worked with senior leadership teams across Asia, helping them to succeed in leading culturally diverse organizations. Chip’s inter-cultural and wide-ranging background adds diversity and depth to his executive coaching practice. Chip has held executive operations roles in some well recognised multinational brands. He was a senior fellow of the Professional and Personal Coaches Association (PPCA) prior to its amalgamation with the International Coach Federation. Chip, a native New Yorker, also became an Aussie in 1995.

Registration

  • All registrations shall be made online before the session. For full-day sessions, payment also shall be made before the session.
  • For half-day sessions, AmCham Shanghai members are eligible to attend free of charge with Training Credit*; AmCham Shanghai members without Training Credit are eligible to attend at "Member Rate"; Employees who work at AmCham Shanghai member companies are eligible to attend at "Employee Rate".
  • For full-day sessions, AmCham Shanghai members are eligible to attend at "Member Rate"; Employees who work at AmCham Shanghai member companies are eligible to attend at "Employee Rate"; Non-members are eligible to attend at "Non-Member Rate".
  • Limited spaces are available and attendance will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Members please bring your membership card and non-members bring your business card upon check-in at the training session.
Walk-in and Cancellation Policy
  • This session requires confirmation of attendance in advance. If you attend this session without prior registration, you will be charged an RMB50 "walk-in" fee as member and RMB100 as employee.
  • Cancellation: If you need to cancel your registration for a half-day session, please notify Lucy Lu at (86 21) 6169 3015 or email lucy.lu@amcham-shanghai.org no less than 24 hours in advance. If you need to cancel your registration for a full-day session, please notify Ray Cheng at least two weeks prior to the session for a full refund. Cancellation made within two weeks before the session will not be refundable.
  • To ensure that you have a seat, please come to the session on time. Open seats will be released to other guests 15 minutes after the session starts.
