Join AmCham Shanghai's Future Leaders Committee for a fireside chat on February 25, 2021, to hear from RADII's Founder and Chairman Brian A. Wong.


Brian Wong started his career in management consulting and then politics in San Francisco, and later became the 52nd hire by Jack Ma by Alibaba. Brian was formerly a VP at Alibaba, where amongst other roles, he served as the special assistant to the Chairman, the Executive Director of the Alibaba Global Leadership Academy (AGLA), and spearheaded the company's global expansion. Most recently, Brian founded RADII, a digital platform dedicated to bridging gaps between the East and West through telling stories from the heart of China's youth culture.


Hosted at AmCham Shanghai's Xintiandi Office (27F Infinitus Tower, No. 168 Hubin Road, Huangpu District) from 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Brian will chat with our newly appointed Future Leaders Committee Chair Eric Hoang, about digital entrepreneurship, global growth, and leadership, as well as the role of storytelling in today's increasingly divisive media landscape.

    Brian Wong

    Founder & Chairman of RADII China

    Brian is an internet executive with over 20 years of management experience in e-commerce and digital media in Greater China, Asia, the United States, and Europe.

    Brian serves as the Founder and Chairman of RADII, an independent digital media platform dedicated to telling stories from the center of China’s youth culture.

    Prior to this, Brian was the Vice President of the Alibaba Group. During his sixteen-year tenure with the firm, Brian served as the Special Assistant to the Chairman for international affairs, the Executive Director of the Alibaba Global Leadership Academy (AGLA), and led Alibaba’s global sales, marketing, and business development operations across the globe.

    Brian earned his Bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College, a Master’s certificate from the Johns Hopkins University – Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

    Brian was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2015. He is a China Aspen Fellow, and a member of the Committee of 100.

    Eric is the Director of Strategic Planning and Business Transformation at Herbalife Nutrition for China, where he also manages the China Growth and Impact Investment Fund. His team is responsible for strategic initiatives such as strategy development, M&A, and digital transformation.

    As the youngest member of Herbalife’s China Leadership Team, Eric has championed the company’s 5-year plan, product strategy, digital strategy, organizational restructuring, and entry into sports nutrition and esports.

    Before relocating to Shanghai in 2018, Eric commuted to China from the US for one year to oversee critical regulatory projects for Herbalife. During this time, he helped build the global compliance program with a focus on FCPA compliance in China, reporting directly to the global C-Suite and Board of Directors.

    Eric was formerly at Herbalife’s global headquarters in Los Angeles covering a wide range of areas such as international expansion, new product development, and supply chain. He played an integral role in the implementation of all projects required as part of the company’s settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

    Eric is also the Co-founder of Zeya, an alcoholic sparkling beverage brand. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Analyst for Pacific Mercantile Bank. He received his Bachelor of Economics from the University of Michigan.
