About

Digitization has been a leading differentiator of China's B2C food service companies. Digitally advanced companies have done so by deploying frontline (前台) platforms — which improve consumer order experience, product delivery, and customer service — and building digital service platforms in the middle (中台) to connect them to the back ends (后台) — which take care of manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain logistics — thus harnessing necessary resources to deliver with speed, customization, and foresight. In the food industry, however, and especially in B2B sectors, digitization requires different strategic thinking, technology and infrastructure design, and management implementation. Nearly every MNC and local Chinese company claims the ambition to be a leader in digitalization, but few have mapped out how digitization actually works and how it impacts the company and its customers.

AmCham Shanghai's Food, Agriculture & Beverage Committee invites you to join a presentation and panel discussion on October 17, 2023 from 4:00-5:30 PM at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room to address the topic of digitalization for the food industry. We are fortunate to have distinguished speakers from Chinese digitization giant, Alibaba, global consultancy, PwC, and food MNC, Kraft Heinz, in addition to the former Regional Head of a Fortune 500 company to discuss the topic of digitization with a focus on the B2B sector. Our distinguished speakers will be discussing the options available for food companies wanting to further digitalize, how to collect and utilize valuable data, and how international companies can localize digitization while still maintaining a connection to the global headquarters, often with established digitization platforms.
