Developing a sustainable compliance program for many foreign companies remains a challenging task, given the continually evolving and costly environment in China. For many organizations, the compliance strategy remains embedded with other disciplines, such as Legal and HR, or is driven regionally or even globally. As such, the budgets allocated to develop and execute a robust compliance program is rarely enough for professionals to apply.
On August 27, AmCham Shanghai is pleased to announce the inaugural event organized by the Ethics & Compliance Committee (E&CC), titled "Building a Sustainable Compliance Program on a Shoestring Budget." Committee Chairman, Dr. Tim Klatte, Forensic Advisory Services Partner at Grant Thornton, will present an overview of the current compliance landscape in China and share actionable tips to help organizations of all sizes. A panel of China-based compliance experts will also join Tim to provide on-the-ground insights and discuss best practices for this highly-watched strategy.
As this is a new committee, we are seeking applicants for core members, in addition to regular committee members. Please contact the committee chair if you are interested to get more involved.
