AmCham Shanghai invites you to attend it’s CSR Community Series: Protecting Wildlife in China, on Friday, May 26 from 12:00-13:30, at Naked Hub in Xintiandi . This event will focus on the topic of wildlife protection in China, and how organizations can engage in this worthy cause.

Whitney Yang of Chengdu Bear Rescue Center (sponsored by Animals Asia) will highlight her organization's efforts to improve the welfare of animals in captivity and end the practice of bear-bile farming. We will screen Animal Asia's film, “Jill Robinson: to the Moon and Back,” and conclude with a question and answer session.

AmCham Shanghai’s Community Series brings together community members and organizations to champion cooperation for meaningful causes.

    Whitney Yang

    Development Executive at Chengdu Bear Rescue Centre

    Whitney Yang is a development executive at Animals Asia, a Hong Kong-based nonprofit organization that rescues Asia’s moon bears from bear bile farms, and improves the welfare of animals in captivity. Ms. Yang has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector. Before joining Animals Asia, Ms. Yang worked at Shanghai Roots & Shoot’s Million Tree Project. She also helped launch the Octave Living Room, a holistic health center in Shanghai, and she has experience as an independent freelancer for animal shelters and women’s organizations. Ms. Yang has volunteered for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Greenpeace and international education, environmental, and humanitarian nonprofits.
