The long-anticipated Trumpโ€“Xi summit in Beijing is behind us, and both sides are signaling a desire to preserve the current truce. However, outcomes largely remained in line with modest expectations โ€” leaving many of the underlying tensions shaping the global business environment unresolved.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai invites you to join Ted Dean, Asia President of DGAโ€“Albright Stonebridge Group, on Monday, June 15, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Chamber Office, for an executive briefing examining what the summit revealed about the trajectory of U.S.โ€“China relations and the outlook for the relationship in 2026.

Drawing on developments surrounding the summit and conversations across both capitals, this briefing will examine:

  • What the summit revealed about each side's priorities and approach to managing the relationship
  • The outlook for tariffs, export controls, investment restrictions, and technology competition
  • What business leaders should be watching in this next phase of the U.S-China relationship
