Healer opened in Shanghai in 2016, blending Eastern flavors with Western drinking culture. It offers 50 Chinese-style cocktails and over 100 types of Chinese spirits. Finding its cozy digs in the former French Concession area of Shanghai, Healer has a menu of cocktails drawing flavor inspiration from Chinese fusions and traditional medicine. Standing out from the crowd, however, is the bar's collection of baijiu (akin to moonshine or arak), which owner Phoebe Han has traveled the country to collect from various regions. The innovative drinks lend a makeover to this old-school spirit, which often gets dismissed from global cocktail programs.
