  • Nigel Belbin

    Nigel Belbin

After a successful career within the travel industry, Nigel Belbin formed Belbin Associates in 1987, combining his entrepreneurial flair and business acumen with his father Dr. Meredith Belbin’s innovative ideas in the field of management teams. As a founding Partner, Nigel has been responsible for bringing the Belbin Team Role theory from academia to the workplace, by combining foresight and strategic thinking to utilize technology as a platform to produce Belbin Team Role Reports. These Belbin Reports are now used by thousands of organizations worldwide. He still shares with his father the belief that individuals have unique talents that they should promote in the workplace. By adding 360 assessments to self-reporting tests, he gave individuals an awareness of the behaviors they are actually displaying. Nigel has recently developed the Belbin Team Business Challenge – a business simulation that gives organizations the opportunity to observe true individual and team behavior.
An aptitude for business meant that Nigel followed a different route than his academically focused parents. Always keen to spot and promote hardworking and talented individuals, Nigel has invested in business ventures outside of Belbin, helping them to achieve their potential.
