    China Director of Economist Intelligence Corporate Network

    Anke Schrader is China Director of the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network. Utilizing over two decades of experience in China, Anke works closely with network members to help inform their business strategies through political, economic, and operational insight and to connect them with their senior leadership peers.

    Anke is also a recognised sustainability expert, and is the author of numerous publications on ESG, citizenship, and sustainable development issues in China. She has served for six years as Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in China’s Business Sustainability Committee.

    Before joining The Economist Group, Anke was Asia Research Director at The Conference Board, where she led strategic planning and execution of thought leadership research for China and Asia, leading a team of economists and researchers covering macroeconomics, human capital, and sustainability research. She also previously worked as a strategy consultant at PwC in Beijing, advising multinational clients on macroeconomic, policy, market entry strategy, and operational issues.

    Anke has led multi-year China research partnerships with Cornell University and Indiana University (funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Ford Foundation), has been a guest lecturer at Cornell’s Employment and Disability Institute, and acts as a mentor for the Schwarzman Scholars Program at Tsinghua University.

    Anke received scholarships for Chinese language studies at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing and Shanghai Jiaotong University’s international MBA programme. She holds an M.A. in Politics and Public Administration from University of Konstanz.

    Jianlin Ni is a senior partner at Dentons Shanghai and holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of International Business and Economics. He has previously served at the Shanghai Foreign Economic and Trade Commission and as a partner at several renowned law firms.

    He was the leader of the third senior talent overseas training group at the Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center, where he received three months of training at the EU and WTO headquarters. In 2007, he was named one of the Top 10 Outstanding Young Lawyers in Pudong New Area. In 2014, he was awarded the Lujiazui Rule of Law Forum Person of the Year Award. In October 2018, as a national leader in foreign-related legal services, he received one month of training in international trade and cross-border investment law at the American Society of International Law. In 2018, he was recognized as an Outstanding Lawyer in China's Business Law sector. For five consecutive years, he has been listed as a leading lawyer in WTO/International Trade by the prominent legal rating agency Legal 500. He is also a leader in foreign-related legal services, recognized by the Ministry of Justice. In 2023, he was named the Annual Figure of the Year by the Pudong International Chamber of Commerce.

    Currently, he also serves as a part-time legal advisor to the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chair of the International Law Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association, a member of the Fair Trade Expert Database of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, a member of the International Commercial Law Expert Database of the Zhejiang Provincial Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Expert Database of the Wuxi International Commercial Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property Service Center, and a member of the Dingxin Rule of Law Talent Database in Shanghai. He is also a part-time professor and master's supervisor at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, a part-time professor at East China University of Political Science and Law, and an arbitrator for several arbitration institutions, including the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Shenzhen International Arbitration Court, and the Shanghai Arbitration Commission.

    Jianlin Ni has extensive experience in international trade and anti-dumping, trade compliance, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, and international commercial dispute resolution. He is an expert in international trade law and has been dedicated to resolving various international trade disputes, representing dozens of domestic companies in foreign anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations. He has provided export control and economic sanctions compliance services to dozens of large trade and high-tech manufacturing enterprises. In the high-profile EU photovoltaic anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation, he represented several large photovoltaic companies as well as government-appointed lawyers.
