In China, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality have been incorporated into the government's overall economic and social development plans, and green, low-carbon and sustainable economic development have been embraced many industries: traditional enterprises are transforming themselves into the paths of clean and smart energy; new energy enterprises are constantly updating and iterating themselves in the technological revolution; high energy-consuming enterprises are improving energy-use efficiency while continuing the transition to clean energy.


It is foreseeable that the green and low-carbon transition will become an important driver of economic and social development in the coming decades, triggering disruptive changes in many fields. In this process, the role of enterprises is particularly important. For enterprises, carbon neutrality is not only a responsibility, but also an opportunity for high-quality development and the reshaping of their competitive advantages.


AmCham Shanghai Suzhou Center invites you to attend the monthly member briefing (Chinese Online) on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Mr. Xin Yao, the Vice Dean at Research Institute for Environmental Innovation (Suzhou) Tsinghua, will provide a presentation on the new trends in the "Dual Carbon" policy development implementation and best practices.

上海美国商会苏州中心与苏州工业园区EHS协会邀请您于6月21日星期二下午2:30至4:00参加"2022年双碳政策解读与最佳实践"线上中文研讨会。来自清华苏州环境创新研究院的么新副院长及来自博格华纳的EHS负责人Conan Zhou将与您分享国家双碳政策的发展趋势以及企业实践方面的见解。

    Mr. Yao Xin is currently the Vice Dean of at the Research Institute for Environmental Innovation (Suzhou) Tsinghua. He has worked in the Research Department of the Environmental and Resources Protection Committee of the National People’s Congress as senior staff. He also served for LanLing County, Shandong Province and as a deputy director at Resource Saving and Environment Protection Department of the National Development and Reform Commission. He is devoted to formulating and organizing the implementation of policies in the field of environmental resources, such as legislation, circular economy and ecological civilization.

    Mr. Yao also participated in the revision of the "Water Pollution Prevention Law", "Solid Waste Pollution Prevention Law", and "Circular Economy Promotion Law". He participated in drafting the "12th Five-Year" and "13th Five-Year" National Economic and Social Development Plan, Strategic Emerging Industry Development Plan, drafted "Circular Economy Development Strategy and Immediate Plan of Action" and "Circular Development Leading Action" and also carried out ‘’Producer Responsibility System Implementation Plan’’ and printed by the state council.

    Mr. Yao has organized the "Ten Hundred Thousand" demonstration operation of the national recycling economy and took charge of promoting the development of resource recycling industries, formulating remanufacturing. He has managed central budgetary allocations for many years, national special construction funds investment projects in the field of green development. He participated in the establishment of a special fund for national circular economy and implemented it in a practical manner. He is familiar with the national law in the field of ecological civilization, green environmental protection policy and industry development.

    He is currently responsible for the only official platform for Tsinghua University Technological Innovation and Industrial Transformation in the environmental field. He is engaged in research and development of green technologies, incubation and industrial investment of green innovative enterprises, comprehensive program design of environmental governance and policy research in the field of ecological civilization.

    Mr. Conan Zhou is currently the EHS leader in BorgWarner for ESG role.

    Mr. Zhou has more than 15 years' working experience in Petrol China, Qoros Auto, Delphi and BorgWarner, specializing in ESG, Green manufacturing and EHS modules.

    BorgWarner Suzhou site had acquired national green plant & Jiangsu green plant certification in the last 2 years, and also received LEED gold certification on new construction project.

    In 2021, the Suzhou plant GHG intensity is only 2.8kg/K RMB.
