Based on the particularity of international trade, its practice has relatively special legal and compliance risks. Legal risks may include fraud risk, default risk, etc. From the compliance perspective, the related aspects may cover export control, trade-based money laundering, sanctions and so on. Especially in the event of recent outbreak of COVID-19 in Hongkong, Shenzhen and Shanghai, it draws our attention again that if the enterprises can invoke force majeure as an exemption for breach of contract in global trade transactions.

Katharine has extensive experience in the legal service for banking finance, fintech, trade compliance and export control, including without limitation daily consulting, transaction and project, product innovation, compliance and internal control, etc., Katharine has more than 15 years working experience. She
    has delivered lectures for multinational enterprises, fintech enterprises and e-commerce platforms.

    Prior to joining Deheng, Katharine served in a well-known Law Firm, and also served as the corporate lawyer in some foreign banks for years, such as JPMorgan Chase Bank (China) Company Limited, Australia and New Zealand Bank (China) Company Limited and so on.

    Katharine is a member of All China Lawyers Association and holds a LL.M in international law from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics.
