As the crisis in the Ukraine unfolds, American companies in China are beginning to wonder how the situation will impact their business. In particular, companies could be impacted by an increase in U.S.-China tension stemming from the crisis, U.S. sanctions on Russia, and increased instability in the region. To help members to understand the security outlook in the region and the possible economic impact of sanctions on American companies in China, AmCham Shanghai will host a webinar featuring Bonnie Glaser, Director of Asia Program at the German Marshal Fund of the U.S, Soo-Mi Rhee, partner at Arnold & Porter, and Han Shen Lin, Senior Advisor to the Asia Group and Professor of Practice in Finance at NYU Shanghai. Ms. Glasser, a security expert, will discuss the strategic implications of the Ukraine crisis on the U.S.-China relationship. Ms. Rhee will explain the details of sanctions and Mr. Lin will provide an overview of the potential impact on sanctions.
This webinar is part of the AmCham Shanghai Government Policy Support (GPS) briefing. The GPS series brings together different voices to deep-dive into Chinese government policy and its effects on American companies in China. The policy webinars will focus on China's foreign relations, business in China and regulatory environment in China.
