AmCham Shanghai's Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Committee would like to invite you to join us on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 4:35 pm for a deep dive into equitable, nature-positive, and climate-neutral business strategies for Nature-Based Solutions to Reach Corporate Net-Zero Targets held via Zoom Webinar. This webinar will have simultaneous translation for both Chinese and English.

The first part of the event is to understand the national and international policy on carbon neutrality and the impact on the business sector; innovative ideas such as nature-based solutions and the pathway to carbon neutrality. The second part aims to share experiences and lessons learned by companies in developing or implementing carbon-neutral strategies.

According to statistics from the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit, 134 countries around the world have made carbon-neutral commitments. So far, 90% of the global economy has been covered by carbon-neutral commitments. 2020 is the first year of China's carbon neutrality. At present, China has established a central leadership group for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and has organized the formulation and will successively release the "1+N" policy system. In the so-called "1+N" policy system, "1" refers to carbon peaking and carbon neutrality guidelines, and "N" includes the carbon peaking action plan before 2030, as well as policy measures and actions in key areas and industries.

The private sector is the main force in tackling climate change and reducing the loss of biodiversity, as well as the core force in technological change and innovation. How to achieve carbon neutrality, as well as keeping nature positive through efficient, innovative, and low-cost measures for the company itself and the supply chain is still challenging both for domestic and international companies.

Nature-based Solutions are actions to protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural and modified ecosystems that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits.

*All attendees will receive an email with the Zoom Webinar ID before the event. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with jenny.wang@amcham-shanghai.org.
