AmCham Shanghai's Healthcare Committee is pleased to invite you to a discussion of key issues facing the changing landscape of healthcare in China, including organizational optimization and talent acquisition, on Wednesday, November 27 from 9:00am to 11:00pm.


This discussion will provide the opportunity for you to hear from many sides of the healthcare field, as we will mainly discuss:


  • The overall changes currently observable within the industry and the challenges they pose to current organizational design and employee efficiency
  • The impact on talent acquisition and retention
  • How organizations should develop their employees' key competences to adapt to the changing environment


Speakers include representatives from healthcare consulting firms, headhunters and current employees at major healthcare companies. AmCham Healthcare Committee Vice Chair Anita Wei will moderate the panel discussion.

    Anita Wei

    Senior Director, Public Affairs & Communications, BD Greater China of BD

    Anita Wei is the Senior Director Public Affairs & Communications for BD Greater China. She joined BD in late 2011 and is a member of BD Greater China Leadership Team as well as China Operation Committee. In this role, Anita is responsible for developing and managing BDX China level strategic programs focusing on HCW safety and patient safety, establishing and enhancing interaction with commercial and industry associations, leading China Policy Council to drive policy intelligence and corresponding strategies, and generating health economic evidence to support product market access and competitive selling. Anita is also accountable for developing strategies and actions on media relations and CSR, building corporate branding and enhancing internal communications. Anita’s team also serves as a central marketing role for BD China Key Account team, building platforms and designing programs as key enablers for KA strategy.

    Anita is now a designated delegate for AdvaMed China Executive Committee and leader for Inclusion & Diversity and WIN (Women Initiative Network) in China. Prior to joining BD, Anita served Novartis for 6 years, where her last role was Head of Communications for Novartis Pharma Greater China, reporting to the Chairman. Anita obtained her bachelor’s degree in economics from University of International Business and Economics in Beijing and her Master Degree in Marketing and Communications from University of Sydney.

    Hua Su is a core leader for Life Science and Healthcare Practice in EY China, with over 12 years of experiences in management consulting focusing on pharmaceutical and medical device industry in China.

    He is experienced in serving all of the major pharma and device companies, covering their corporate strategy, growth strategy, portfolio, branding, new product launch and market access. His core expertise include pharma, medical device, hospital planning, deal strategy, target screening, and commercial due diligence.

    Prior to EY, Hua led the management consulting business in IMS Health, and also worked for PwC Consulting, Deloitte Consulting, Monitor Group and McKinsey before.

    Edward Tu is currently Executive Director of Astrazeneca University (AZU) which provides total training solutions for AZC.

    Edward has been in pharmaceutical industry over 25 years. Before joining AZ in 2015, Edward built up Novartis Sales Management Academy, was in charge of all divisions‘ learning and development at Bayer Healthcare Company (BHC) .AZU has got several times CSO Awards through supporting business grows in the past few years, also received the honor of “Best Corporate University” and “Best Principal” in the field of training.

    Edward got Master of Business Administration, MBA degree certificate, Chinese licensed pharmacist qualification certificate, national second-level psychological counselor qualification certificate, and international NLP executive qualification certificate.

    He was selected to be first Chairman of Pharma Training Union in 2017. He printed "2019 Pharma Learning and Talent Development Annual Report" as chief-editor through leading Training Union. He was also the first Chinese PAC member (Programme Advisory Committee) of global ATD. Edward has been the consultant of “Chinese Training Magazine” and a founding member of ISPI Asia Pacific, International Performance Improvement Association.

    Peter Zhang is a member of the firm’s Healthcare Sector. He focuses on supporting both multinational and Chinese pharma, medtech and health services clients, PE/VC backed healthcare clients for their talent development needs. Peter is based in Shanghai.

    Previous Experience
    Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Peter spent 20+ years with MNC pharma giants including GSK, Lilly, Pfizer and Takeda with increasing responsibilities in Sales, Marketing, Training, Government Affairs, and Business Unit management. He had oversea assignments in U.S., Singapore and HK. In 2011, he was selected as Global Health Fellow on an international volunteer assignment with Population Services International in Kenya to promote access, quality and efficiency of health services. In his early career stage, he was a qualified Medical Doctor and worked as a pediatrician after graduating from medical school.

    Education
    Peter holds a B.A. in medicine from the medical school of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He also attended the EMBA Program at Peking University's National School of Development.
