When people hear the term "elevator pitch," the first thing that comes to their mind is being stuck in a crowded elevator with an important person that they want to impress. While these "make-or-break" conversations may very well happen anywhere, this skill is vital for anyone who is trying to make the right impression on the right person in any situation that might arise.

In our half-day workshop we analyze elevator pitches, from the mechanics to the implementation. The ultimate measure of success after the encounter is if you are one step closer to achieving your goals and whether the other person is glad they "shared an elevator" with you today!

Our exploration of this topic includes:

  • What words to say to concisely and clearly share your message
  • How to say it in a way that conveys the level of sincerity and passion you want
  • Effectively let the other side know why this is important to them

All PwC learning is taught by lecture, case and experience. This workshop is highly interactive with role plays and just-in-time feedback.

Session Outline

  • The mechanics: To have a successful elevator pitch we first need to know what constitutes a successful one. We explore the necessary content and impacts so we can recognize and improve each element.
  • The delivery: Know what to say is only part of the work. The next part we look to convey are the emotions that match the message. How can we show the other side that we are sincere? Passionate? Empathetic? That the issue is urgent? We deep dive on how to make the right impression.
  • Role plays : Now we take the lessons learned and apply them. With set topics and controlled time we see how well the participants can put together and deliver an effective elevator pitch. Practice and feedback are the biggest value.
  • Your case: With the learning and practice done, we now focus on a real case. We practice . This is to help ensure that attendees can apply the skills right away.
  • Summary: the session is wrapped up with a summary of what we learned. Action planning is done to make sure that right after the session the participants are ready to impress with their concise and impactful elevator pitch skills.
