Mary Boyd is responsible for program development and client servicing in Shanghai. She also provides research and conceptual support on China for Economist Corporate Network program. Before joining the Economist Group Mary Boyd was in the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, serving on assignment in Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan and China (in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing). Since leaving government service she has researched and published on economic development and governance issues in China, and has undertaken consultancy work for the World Bank and other international institutions, as well as multinational companies. She has written for a number of Economist Intelligence Unit publications, including Country Report, China Hand and Business China. She co-authored the Economist Intelligence Unit report: Taking on the Competition: Domestic Companies in China.

Kenneth Jarrett, based in Shanghai, is a Senior Advisor at ASG, where he draws on decades of business and diplomatic experience in China and across East Asia to provide perspective and advice to businesses, investors, and other organizations with interest in the region. Mr. Jarrett is based in Shanghai, China.

Most recently, Mr. Jarrett spent five years as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Under his leadership, the Chamber helped hundreds of companies establish and grow their networks in China and navigate operational and regulatory challenges.

Previously, Mr. Jarrett was a distinguished diplomat whose positions included service as Consul General in Shanghai, and as Deputy Consul General in Hong Kong. His 26-year foreign service career also included postings in Beijing, Chengdu, and Singapore. His government roles in Washington, DC, included serving as Director of Asian Affairs at the White House National Security Council. Following his government service, Mr. Jarrett served as Chairman of Greater China for APCO Worldwide.

Mr. Jarrett is a frequent commentator on the business environment in China, and he has been quoted in outlets including Bloomberg, The Economist, the Financial Times, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, among others.

He is the recipient of the Magnolia Award (Silver) from the Shanghai government and is a member of the National Committee for U.S.-China Relations.

Mr. Jarrett earned an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Yale University and an M.A. in National Security Studies from the National War College. He received a B.A. in History from Cornell University. He speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Han Shen Lin is Deputy General Manager of Wells Fargo in China. In his role, Han supports overall bank governance and risk management; and also has line of business responsibility advising US MNC clients on China strategy, and China MNCs on US market entry.
Wells Fargo provides international banking services to corporates, financial institutions and multilateral agencies – organizations such as the United Nations and World Bank – through more than 35 offices worldwide. Offerings include local currency financing, payments, collections, trade services and outsourcing, deposits, credit, foreign exchange, and derivatives.
Han began his career with Wells Fargo in 2004 in Charlotte, N.C. where he was involved in a series of strategic initiatives encompassing credit, payments, trade and acquisitions. Two years later, he moved to China where he has been ever since.
Han completed his undergraduate studies in business at the University of Michigan. He later completed a Masters in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a Masters of Science in Global Finance from the joint NYU Stern Business School-the HK University of Science and Technology program, and a law degree (LLM) in Chinese commercial law at Fudan University Law School.
Han previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer with service in Ukraine. He serves on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai and on the Advisory Board of the NYU Shanghai-Stern Masters of Quantitative Finance program. Han lives in Shanghai with his wife and two daughters.

Dr. Zhang is a research fellow at the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), and a non-resident fellow at the Charhar Institute of China. His research focuses on East Asian geopolitics, U.S.-China relations, and China’s diplomacy. He is Deputy Editor of the China Quarterly of International Strategic Studies and an editorial board member of the Journal of Political Marketing. He was a visiting fellow at the Henry L. Stimson Center in 2011 and at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in 2016.

Kent is a Senior Partner in Control Risks, Greater China and North Asia. He is responsible for Control Risks' practices across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the Koreas and Mongolia. He has worked in Asia since the early 1980s.

Kent has consulted with multi-national and Asian corporations on a range of risk and strategy issues; such as M&A and organic growth strategy, crisis management and operational business controls, and strategic and organizational development programs. Kent has particular expertise in the Asia-Pacific healthcare, food and beverage, and consumer products sectors .

Formerly, Kent was responsible for the Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence practice throughout Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Control Risks, Kent was general manager and co-owner of Technomic Asia, a market strategy consulting firm.

Kent has worked as a journalist and is a frequent contributor to Asia-based media outlets. The co-author of The China Ready Company (2006, China Pathways) he writes and produces The Talking Monkey, a blog and podcast on living as a foreigner in China.

Kent has a bachelor's in English and a master’s in East Asian studies from the University of Minnesota. He also completed graduate studies in journalism and mass communication at the China Times Centre for Mass Media and Social Studies.

Strom Kong is the General Manager of Anaren Communication (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Anaren is a leading global designer and manufacturer of high-frequency RF and microwave microelectronics, components, and assemblies for the space, defense, and telecommunications sectors. Strom spearheaded the setup of Anaren Suzhou plant, a core supplier to major manufacturers around the world in telecommunications networking products. Prior to Anaren, Strom worked in Philips Broadband Network Inc. and PPC in Manlius-NY as Global RF Product Line Manage. Strom’s previous positions also include Marketing/Management Consultant for Ripley Inc. in Connecticut, and Assistant Professor in Fudan University. Strom holds BS degree from Jiangxi University, graduate degree from Fudan University, and MPA/Ph.D degrees in Public Management from Maxwell School of Syracuse University.

Lola Li is responsible for the centralized Logistics function in Asia Pacific region, including the transportation activities and 10 distribution centers in Shanghai, Suzhou, Dongguan, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan. Lola has 17 years’ industry experience in China, United States and Spain covering regional or global roles, with the insights from both sides of the business. Prior to join in TE Connectivity, Lola has worked with Ingersoll Rand and Maersk. And with her years in Maersk group, she has gained the experience from both commercial and operational perspective.

Lola holds a Master Degree from Alliance Manchester Business School, as well as a Bachelor Degree from Nankai University.

Xu joined StanleyBlack&Decker in 2007 from U.S. Headquarter, started to manage Asia Supply Chain from 2013. Prior to SBD, Xu worked for Kohler Company and American Express. Xu is holding M.B.A. from University of Utah and B.S. in Engineering.

Xu is passionate about building a collaborative Supply Chain model to support commercial growth and manage the risk from supply disruption. Also Xu views Supply Chain as a corporate strategic asset (Innovation + Supply Chain Efficiency). Xu won Manufacturing Leadership (ML100) Global Value Chain Award in 2012, SBD Eagle Award in 2016 and CSR Ambassador Award in 2017 for achievement in social responsibility.
