The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai Manufacturers' Business Council is pleased to invite you to the 2026 China Manufacturing Outlook, taking place on Thursday, March 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Conference Room.

As global manufacturing undergoes profound transformation, China remains an irreplaceable hub, yet an increasingly complex one, particularly for multinational manufacturers with long-standing operations in the market. Shifting geopolitics, evolving industrial policies, intensifying technological competition, and the rapid rise of domestic champions are reshaping how global manufacturers invest, operate, and compete in China.

The session will open with an overview of the global manufacturing landscape, with a specific focus on China's evolving role. This will be followed by an in-depth discussion with manufacturing executives, who will share practical insights on how they are adapting their China strategies to strengthen resilience, drive innovation, and maintain long-term competitiveness.

Topics include:

  • Global Manufacturing Outlook
  • Manufacturing and Supply Strategy in a Fragmented World
  • Localization vs regionalization
  • "China for China," "China for Global," and "China + 1 + X"
  • Advanced Manufacturing & Smart Factories: Automation, AI-enabled production, and digitalization
  • Local Competition and Going Global
