Yunchuan Zhou has extensive experience as a former IP judge from which he has developed a profound and precise understanding of China's IP law and litigation. His practice focuses on litigation and adversarial matters concerning all aspects of Chinese IP law, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, and contract dispute involving technology, as well as antimonopoly issues involving intellectual property rights. He has advised some of the world's largest and most successful companies in complex IP litigation in China.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, Yunchuan served as an IP Judge at the Supreme People's Court of China for more than seven years, during which time he handled more than 300 IP cases. A great number of his authored judgments were elected and published as important decisions for IP jurisprudence in China. He regularly sat on the drafting committees of several of the court's judicial interpretations concerning patent, trademark, antimonopoly, and civil procedure law. He also served as a judge at the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate Court, where he adjudicated more than 700 IP cases.
Yunchuan has authored and coauthored dozens of books and articles in the field of intellectual property law. He is also frequently invited to speak on Chinese intellectual property law and practices.

在2016年加入众达之前，周云川曾在中国最高人民法院担任知识产权法官超过七年之久，在此期间他审理了300多起知识产权案件，其中不少判决入选最高法院的指导性案例和年度典型案例。他还参与起草有关专利、商标、反垄断和民事诉讼法的司法解释。在加入最高法院之前，周云川还曾在北京市第一中级人民法院担任法官，审理知识产权案件多达700多起。特殊的法官经历，使得周云川积累了丰富的经验，对中国的知识产权法律及诉讼建立了深刻精准独到的理解。
周云川曾撰写及合著过诸多知识产权法律领域的书籍和文章。他还经常受邀就中国的知识产权法律和执业实践发表演讲。
