Who should attend?
On December 25, 2016, the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress adopted China’s first Environmental Protection Tax Law. The Law is poised to replace the existing pollutant discharge fee system with a pollution tax as the main economic tool to regulate environmental pollution by businesses in China. This historic development is expected to have sweeping impact on enterprises’ compliance with China’s environmental regulations. The Law will come into effect on January 1, 2018.
Given the Law’s substantial impact on monitoring environmental emissions and its significant fiscal implications on operating enterprises, AmCham Shanghai Suzhou Center invites you to join our Suzhou EHS Alliance & Finance Management Forum Joint Event on Tuesday, January 23 from 15:00 to 17:30 at the Suzhou Center Office. We are pleased to invite officials from the Environment Protection Bureau and Local Taxation Bureau for an exclusive dialogue to interpret the Law, analyze its impact on compliance and business operations, and discuss the local implementation in Suzhou including tax rates, calculation methods and declaration processes.
