AmCham Shanghai's Education Committee invites you to a discussion on secondary school admission, both local and international. Three experts will bring rich and specific perspective to this topic. Each of them will share their own experiences in their own schools and in the broader sector about how parents can more effectively deal with all the aspects of admissions to a world-class secondary school – school choice, tests, interviews, etc.

William D. Leahy
Dean of Enrollment at Phillips Exeter Academy
Mr. Leahy has nearly 30 years of independent school admission experience. Currently serving as Exeter’s Dean of Enrollment, Mr. Leahy has previously served as Director of Admissions at Phillips Academy (Andover, MA), Dean of Admission at the Hotchkiss School (Lakeville, CT), Director of Financial Aid and Senior Associate Director of Admissions at St. Paul’s School (Concord, NH) and Assistant Director of Admissions at Boston University (Boston, MA).

Alice Li-Arndt
Director of Admissions at Shanghai American School
Alice Li-Arndt has headed schoolwide admissions at Shanghai American School (SAS) since 2013. As Director, she oversees enrollment, admissions and outreach at its two campuses. Prior to SAS Alice held management roles in not-for-profits and multinational organizations in the US, Taiwan, Malaysia, Germany and China.

Executive Headmaster at YK Pao School
Mr David Mansfield is a Cambridge history graduate who after two headships in the UK, became Headmaster of Dulwich College, Beijing. He is now Executive Headmaster of Shanghai’s Y.K.Pao School, one the leading bilingual Chinese international schools in China.
