AmCham Shanghai invites you to join us for a joint presentation by Professor Syaru Shirley Lin and Professor Harry Harding of the University of Virginia on Friday, March 17 from 08:00-09:30 at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.

Our two guest speakers will discuss the challenges facing China, the U.S., and Taiwan in managing their complex triangular relationship, particularly given the actions of the new U.S. administration and the emergence of a distinctive Taiwanese identity over the past two decades. Prof. Lin was recently interviewed on this topic by The New York Times: "For Taiwan, a Dilemma Over Identity, Economy and China" and has written an op-ed in the South China Morning Post, “America’s policy on Taiwan and China Needs to Change with the Times.”
